Thinspiration.
God, that’s such an ugly and horrible word. I don’t know, I suppose the reason I hate this word is because it makes me sad how so many people can’t be happy with their bodies. Listen, we all come in different shapes and sizes, and as long as it’s a healthy one I think it’s fine.
Granted, I’ll admit that I have my days when I look in the mirror and find things I’m not crazy about, but isn’t it time that we stop obsessing over such things? It’s exhausting, and personally I’d much rather spend my time thinking about all the wonderful things in life instead of how I’ll never be as skinny as someone else. And besides, there are so many other things to look for in people to inspire us (kindness, creativity, humor, etc…) that it seems silly to only focus on someone’s waist size.
Man, I wish we could all just give up this silly concept of thinspiration and instead appreciate all the wonderful things that the people we look up to, as well as ourselves, have to offer the world. Because it’s about time that we begin to see that we’re already beautiful, inside and out.
